Chapter 2: Day 84: 15 April 2019
Today was a very productive day. I woke up and basically worked all day. I had my weekly meeting with Patty and Gloria which was a nice clarification for some of my projects. After a lot of working I ended the night hanging out with Malachi, Kyle and Sarah before calling it a night.
Chapter 2: Day 85: 16 April 2019
Today was another productive day of working. When I woke up I worked on some projects for a while before deciding to go into the city. On my way to the bus I ran into Andrew and we got to talking and ended up just staying in Dalkeith and went Al’s Cafe for a coffee. We sat for about two hours talking and enjoying not being in the house before we had to do back, so Andrew could go on his field trip.

While a big group of people were on a field trip I continued to work on my projects and try to get them done as much as possible. After a while I decided I wanted to go to the store for a few things, so Melissa and I went on a walk to get groceries. When we got back to the house we made some food and hung out for a while before going down to the pool room to play a bit. Andrew, Chet and Emme came down a bit later and played doubles which was really fun. I am no good at pool, but it was still a good time with good music and lots of laughs.
Chapter 2: Day 86: 17 April 2019
Today I got up and made some breakfast and tried to be productive, but ended up cleaning my room and watching Reba for a while. When Melissa was done we class we caught the bus into the city to meet up with Malachi and Andrew. We had no real plan of what we wanted to do with our time, but we made the most of it. We mostly wandered around, shop hopping and looking for things we did not need. We wandered around for a while before stopping at Boozy Cow for lunch. After food we wandered a bit more before catching the bus home.
When we got home Malachi and I cleaned a bit and hung out for a while before heading upstairs to work on journals and homework. After a bit of working Jacob messaged the group and said that they were going to play ghost in the graveyard at 10:00p, so we worked until it was time to go play!
Chapter 2: Day 87: 18 April 2019
Ellie and Casey are coming! This morning I got up and was productive for a while since Malachi was in class. At about 11:15 he got out of class and we headed to the airport to meet Ellie and Casey. We were so excited to see them! Once they finally got through everything we met up with big hugs. After a bit of words exchanged we left Malachi and Casey at the airport to catch their plane to London and Ellie and I headed into the city. Since she was pretty tired from traveling we stopped at the bus office to get her a bus pass quick before heading home. When we got to Dalkeith we went home to drop off our bags and then went to Morrisons to get some snacks. The rest of the day we spent relaxing, catching up and ending the night by watch Harry Potter, eating some spaghetti and calling it an early night.
Chapter 2: Day 88: 19 April 2019
Today Ellie and I, along with some of the house spent the day in Alnwick, England. Alnwick is home to the Alnwick Castle where part of the Harry Potter series was filmed. I was not originally planning on going to this castle since I had been there last time, but when Ellie booked her ticket to come this weekend I knew that I had to take her. We woke up and I made breakfast for both of us before loading the bus and hitting the road.
Alnwick was about an hour and forty-five minute drive away. Once we arrived we walked through the castle and headed to the gardens. Our first stop was the Poison Garden. Since a tour had just gone through we decided to walk to the blossoming trees! There were rows and rows of beautiful blossom trees with swings in them. We took some photos, swung for a while and enjoyed the sweet smell of spring. After a while we headed back down to the poison garden for our tour. The tour was interesting and filled with lots of information about plants that I had never heard of and some I did not realize that they were poison. When we were done with the tour we decided to walk around the gardens for a while more. We played with different water elements they had and walked through all of the blooming flowers.
Once we were done in the gardens we decided to walk into town and check out a discount book store (Barter Books). The store was gigantic and filled with more books than imaginable. We wandered and read for about an hour and all ended up getting at least one book. After the book store we walked into the heart of town to grab a bit of food (I got a panini and ice cream) at a cafe called Bailey’s before heading back to the castle to explore more. We walked around the inside of the castle and when we were done we decided to walk a bit of the outside and the gift shop. Since I did not need anything from the gift store I decided to sit outside in the sun and read a bit while everyone else shopped. When everyone was done shopping we walked around outside a bit more before running into Rudy and Allison and decided to lay in the grass with them for a while soaking up the sun.
After a bit Ellie and I decided to walk down the bridge quick to get a different view of the castle. By the time we were done there it was time to load back into the bus and head for home. When we got back to Dalkeith it was about 7pm and since we had not really gotten a chance to eat dinner Riley, Ellie and I decided to go into the city and get food at Boozy Cow. Once we were done with dinner we decided to catch the bus back to town and watch a movie. We ended up watching Click with Riley and Jarod and as it was finishing Malachi and Casey got home from London. Since everyone was exhausted from travel we all decided to head to bed and call it a night.
Chapter 2: Day 89: 20 April 2019
Today was a busy day of hiking and exploring! I woke up at about 7 to get ready and make Malachi, Casey and Ellie breakfast before catching out taxi to St. Abbs Head. Earlier in the semester Malachi and I had gone to St. Abbs Head with our class and we thought it was gorgeous and worth bringing Ellie and Casey there. The weather was gorgeous, warm and the sun was shining. We really could not have asked for better weather for the hike. We walked for a while and then would stop and relax for a while enjoying the view. During the walk I was in just a tank top and short and was still warm. When we were reaching the end of our hiking trip I noticed that my shoulders were getting warm and quite pink, but it really did feel good to be basking in the sun. We spent about three hours hikings until we got picked up again and headed back into Edinburgh.
When we got back into the city we stopped at the Lothian Bus Office to get Casey a bus pass before heading out to the zoo! The zoo was so much fun and it was even better to see Casey geek out about all of the animals. We spent a few hours walking through all of the exhibits and enjoying the beautiful day! After a while we headed back to city center to get Wings for dinner and head home for the night. The original plan for the day was to go back to the house, get dresses up and go back into the city for some drinks at some nicer pubs, but everyone was exhausted from the day, so we just talked for a while in the hallway before calling it a night.
Chapter 2: Day 90: 21 April 2019
Happy Easter and Happy Birthday to my best friend Sarah!
Today was an absolutely gorgeous day out! We all slept in a bit before getting up are making a breakfast feast. Melissa, Ellie, Casey, Malachi and I all enjoyed a good breakfast before heading out to Portobello for the day. Portobello is a city on the coast, so we decided to head there and hang out at the beach. When we got there we walked around for a while, got ice cream and then decided to go down onto the beach and into the water a bit. None of us had swimsuits, but we still walked in a bit and looked for shells.
After a while of walking we looked up how far it was to get out to the Circus in Edinburgh and it was going to take longer than expected, so sadly we did not get as much time at the beach as thought but it was still worth the trip. We walked for a bit more before catching the bus. The first bus we were on was so packed we had to stand the whole time and it was incredibly hot that we were all miserable. Once we got into the heart of the city we changed busses to the one that was going to bring us out to the park. This bus was also hot, but we luckily got to sit, however, after being so hot on the bus before and probably dehydrated I felt very sick on this but and was just hoping I would make it till our stop. I tried to close my eyes for a while and that seemed to help.
When we made it to our stop we walked in circles for a bit before eventually finding where we were supposed to be. I had never been to a Circus that I remember so I was pretty excited. The circus was all talent acts like tightrope, motorcycle cage, acrobatics and more. The acts were from all around the world and so impressive. I loved watching everything and was happy that we got the opportunity to go.
After the circus we headed back to Dalkeith. By the time we got back it was getting later, so we decided to go grab a bite at Blacksmith and a few drinks at Masons before calling it a night.
