Hello Readers!
This week started off with an adventure into the city. On Tuesday Sarah Kaye, Sara and I went into town for a quick run to Statbucks, but that ended up turning into more of a whole day event.
After we got our coffee we were already going to miss lunch at home so we decided to go to Barburrito. On our way to the restaurant we stopped at some consignment stores and got some new clothes and shoes. After a while we headed to get food. The map on my phone took us a really weird round about way through the University here which was actually really cool to see. Once we finally got there we got some food and then headed to Lush and then home.
Wednesday a group of us went to Craigmiller Castle. The castle was amazing! The view from the top was beautiful and even though the castle was run down a bit it was still very interesting.

On Friday I did a Gilmerton Cove tour which if I am being honest was not something I enjoyed really at all. I had high expectations and it wasnt really what I expected. Other than that I headed into the city and wandered around for a few hours finding new places. Some things on I did on my walk…
- Found a Portrait Museum that was absolutely breathtaking! I didnt get to spend too much time in there so I am hoping that I get to go back soon and look at everything there.
- I found many new pubs and cafes that look really fun! The two places I found that look the most interesting are a Stand Up Comedy club and a cafe called Forest which looks like the inside of a childs imagnation.
- I ended up helping two Italian ladies find Grassmarket (a part of Edinburgh). I wasnt able to talk with them much because of the language difference, but I was able to help them to where they needed to go.
In total I walked about three hours so by the time I was done I was ready to go home! Once I finally got home I rested for a bit and then Sarah Kaye, Tim and I got ready to go into the city again for a night out.
– I saw this guy one of the first days I was here as well as the other day. He is amazing and his instrument sounds so cool!
Once we got into the city we went to Three Sisters for a bit but got bored after a bit so we went to the pub next door called Movement. I really liked this pub because there was good music and not as many people as other places. After we were done at Movement we were going to go to Espionage, but ended up meeting some people and followed them to Silk which turned out to be really boring so we left pretty quick. When we were done there Sarah Kaye and I stopped at Espionage to use their bathroom and then went to Barrito and Shake for some food before catching the bus home.

The next day, Saturday, we were all so tired we didnt really do anything until late in the afternoon. It was a really relaxing day which was nice. Sarah Kaye and I spent part of the day wandering Dalkeith. It was really fun to see more of our hometown. Later in the day Sarah Kaye and I got ready for Postmodern Jukebox (the concert we were going to).
- The concert was amazing. I am so happy that I was able to go see them live in Scotland with my best friend! It really was a dream come true and I will never forget how much fun I had.

Even though I did a lot this week and am so exhausted it was all worth it!
Talk to you soon! 🙂
The title:
The title of this blog is “Home is a Feeling.” I chose this because ever since day one here I have felt at home. Dont get me wrong I have had bad times that stink, but over all I have never felt out of place or scared. I really do love it here and it feels like home.
Before I came here I thought that I was going to have a count down until the day I would get to go back to the states, but now I am counting down the days until I have to go back to the states. I am going to miss Scotland so much. The people and culture are absolutely amazing here and I have never felt like I belong somewhere so much as I do here.

I really enjoyed reading your blog, Jordan. Furthermore, I am very glad that you’re enjoying your stay in Scotland so much. I hope you’ll forge many strong and happy memories during your time here and that you’ll return time and again. Cead Mile Failte or A Hundred Thousand Welcomes in Scots Gaelic.
